Flightwise Flight Tracker app for iPhone and iPad
NOTE: This application is geared towards tracking aircraft, and not intended for the casual traveler. It does not provide gate or seating information. It is intended for aviation professionals and enthusiasts. At present, we can only track aircraft within the United States.

It has been a loooooong time since weve updated this app - five years! Our apologies to all the users who have downloaded the previous terrible versions up until now.
This release is a quick-fix attempt to replace the faulty versions that were available on the app store previously, but it is just the start of a much larger revamp that will hopefully let us produce a really cool flight tracking app, moving forward!

Flight Tracker is Flightwise.coms utility for tracking commercial or general aviation flights anywhere within United States airspace (only flights in US and Canadian airspace, including Alaska, Hawaii, parts of the Caribbean, and other US territories are supported at this time).
Users can enter an aircraft tail number or an FAA flight ID, and a tracking map of the aircraft and its current position appears. To find flights out of a specific airport, users can enter a valid 3 or 4 letter FAA airport identifier, and a listing of arrivals and departures in and out of that particular airport will appear. Users can select individual flights to track from the listing.

Pros and cons of Flightwise Flight Tracker app for iPhone and iPad
Flightwise Flight Tracker app good for
Great app. I use it to track our companys aircraft as well as several of my friends planes
Very useful. Would help if they would delete flights from the previous day so you could input flt # before it takes off and let the app follow it in background
Love this app. Great for tracking a friends personal single engine plane when he flies in to visit
Works perfectly. Great when picking people up at the airport.
Great app, I can see a plane in the sky and find out where it is going!
Great for line service, especially since you can use your location and it will list those nearby who are flying VFR. Could use a list of favorites to access often searched tail numbers instead of looking through the menu of recent searches.
Some bad moments
I have two flights booked with United where the flights are operated by Continental. This app could find neither of them under either of the airlines. This app is junk. I want my 99 cents back because I overpaid.
Ok a year ago, but no updates and crappy map view. Bad luck finding active flights. Last straw today when it couldnt find a Virgin American flight. So I deleted this one & replaced it with FlightTracker Pro. Found the flight and awesome Google map tracking. MUCH better.
Couldnt find any flights I put in. Flight Aware is more accurate.
While this may be useful for tracking general aviation flights, its pretty much useless for tracking commercial. I have tried to get status on United and Delta flights, only to be told that the flights do not exist. Save your money and use the airlines websites.
I agree with all the rest of those that could not get this program to work. I have wasted 99 cents. This program is horrible.
Have tried to track several flights since getting app about a month ago. The home page is nice and fairly easy to navigate BUT HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO TRACK A FLIGHT which was the whole point. 2 of the 3 were US to Europe and back. There was ALWAYS AN ISSUE. "That info isnt available" "For security reasons cant follow that due to being in Londons control area." Some non domestic flights use different flight nos. Im VERY disappointed.
